Bios

Dr. Mick Jackowski, Associate Professor of Marketing, along with fellow professors in the Metro State departments of Marketing and Industrial Design, is revolutionizing undergraduate education with Brand Spankin New (BSN), the only student-run furnishing business in the world. During his previous entrepreneurial career, Jackowski was co-founder of GreenPlay, a management consulting firm recognized in 2002 as the 2nd-fastest growing company in Boulder County by the Boulder County Business Report. He was also Director of Media Relations for the Arena Football League, Director of Communications for the National Lacrosse League, Electronic Media Coordinator for the National Football League International’s NFL Europe (formerly World League) and a Public Relations Assistant with the NFL's Buffalo Bills. Jackowski specializes in brand, reputation, and relationship management.


Kenneth R. Phillips is the primary Design for Production, Furniture Design, and Woodworking faculty person for the Industrial Design department at Metropolitan State College of Denver (MSCD). Ken holds a BA and MA in anthropology from the University of Northern Colorado. He also has a BS in Industrial Technology from Metropolitan State College of Denver and a MS in Manufacturing Technology from Colorado State University. Mr. Phillips has served on the full time faculty at MSCD for seven years and has over twenty-five years experience in the woodworking industry.


Jared is a 22 year old Industrial Design student with a focus on responsible product design. Currently attending Metropolitan State College of Denver, he will be starting his senior year this coming fall. Jared has grown up around Denver and enjoys an active lifestyle in recreation of the Rocky Mountains. He loves to backpack, rock climb, and snowboard.

Quote: I'm looking forward to this trip as a means of learning about business in today's global economy. Finally, I am excited to represent Metro State College in an international setting.
